It was reported earlier this year that Chevron sent a 500,000-barrel cargo of sour thick Venezuelan oil to its Pascagoula refinery.
The opposite of light sweet Texas Tea, Venezuelan oil known for its high sulfur and high emissions. "It's a heavy crude that's of a different and inferior quality from the international standards," said Giorgio Cunto Morales, an economist in Caracas who tracks the industry.
Now it is reported that Chevron has ramped up operations and has doubled imports of Sour Marxist Oil. But not to worry, here in the USA the Biden Administration has generally hamstrung our industry, canceled the Keystone Pipeline, and plays hard to get with permits, all the while force feeding us “renewables”.
Chevron Marxist Oil output is running at about 90,000 bpd, compared to the 50,000 bpd before the easing last year of the U.S. sanctions. Chevron received a six-month U.S. license last November that can be automatically renewed monthly.
And guess who else is supplying Venezuela with oil tankers and logistical support? Our other buddies from the Islamic Republic of Iran
Just another day of absurdities starring Ol’ Uncle Joe.

These heavy/extra heavy crudes are blended with lighter crudes and fed to the distillation tower. The Venezuelan crudes are very high in heavy metals and sulfur content. The heavy metals will end up in the delayed coker product solids and sulfur will end up as feed to the sulfur plant and end up as powders sulfur. The solids products will be landfilled since the coke can't be burned and there is an excess of sulfur for production of Sulfuric Acid.
