How many right whales were there BEFORE people began to hunt them in the fourteenth century, and how much did they weigh then?

Why do they not simply do whale counting like a child would do. And make a plot versus time.

The fact that such a graph is not in that article speaks volumes to me.

But okay, they earn their money by doing this kind of climate “research”.

I hope they are happy and have a fulfilling career (in their mind).

I am finding that the peer reviewed literature overall can't be trusted - there is too much cash and career items at stake.

Admittedly I didn’t have the patience or time to make it through the entire article, but, having made it through about 85%, I have to say that if I were one of the finders, I’d demand my money back. What utter nonsense.
